wedding | sarah and terry |chanhassen, mn

without further adieu,

i would like to present the first wedding blog post of the season.  two weekends ago, i helped out my fellow wedding photographer buddy, ben, shoot a wedding for a charming couple.  sarah and terry have known each other since high school and are obviously really cute together.  meeting them in the morning, i was immediately at ease with their chill, laid back, personalities!  while ben was off photographing sarah getting ready with her ladies, i shuffled on over to terry and all of his buddies.  as i walked in i was met by an obviously close group of gents.  they were joking and ribbing terry as everyone prepared for the day.  after some prep photos we moved onto the bride and groom session.  we were at this awesome old school church that just had a ton of character; therefore, we decided to go ahead and just shoot around the church.  luckily, the day turned out to be pretty nice for an early spring wedding.  with the weather’s blessing, sarah and terry turned on the magic and let ben and i take a ton of awesome photos.  my personal favorite from the b&g sesh was the first look.  the look of joy on sarah’s face couldn’t have been better as she saw her husband-to-be for the first time that day!  after getting the bridal party’s photos done, it was time for the ceremony to commence.  the church was packed with people, up in the balcony where i was hunkered down, there were even people standing trying to get a good look at the cute couple.  the ceremony went by rapidly and came to a climatic end with a gigantic kiss between the newly weds.  i quickly rushed downstairs to catch them leaving the church.  while the new couple spent time greeting and thanking their guests, much to my amusement and surprise, came a vintage pontiac safari to ferry the couple to the reception.  apparently, terry is uber into car derbys and this is one of his future cars to wreck.  obviously being an important part of terry’s life, this car had to be in one of the centerpiece photos… so we did it!  at the reception hall in chanhassen, everyone was excited for bridal party to arrive and when they did, suffice to say, their grand entrance was pretty epic with them dancing in, chest bumps, and much cheering all around.  dinner was a delicious departure from the usual chicken breast!  there were bbq ribs and a plethora of other entrees available for any and all tastes.  as the afternoon progressed towards the evening, the first dance commenced between sarah and terry.  they were the center of attention as the started the evening to a beautiful dance.  afterwards, the father/bride dance and mother/son dance followed.  sarah’s father and terry’s mother were obviously super proud and happy for their kids.  as they danced, huge smiles graced their faces!  after that a rush of people swarmed the dance floor for a memorable evening of dancing to classics and contemporary music.  overall, it was a great day and i want to thank sarah and terry for a great day.  both of you are awesome and i hope that your new lives together are awesome x 100!  also, large thanks to ben for inviting me along!

thanks for checking the blog and make sure to leave some love in the comments section,

Hey Evan, Just wanted to thank you so much for the awesome summary of the day, both in your words and your amazing photos. It was an incredible day, especially when the bride tells everyone that she would not have changed a thing, the day was perfect! You and Ben captured that for us beautifully. I have so many “favorite” photos. I thank you for that! Sue Meier
