for today’s offerings, i bring you a session that is a little bit different from what I usually do!  for a long time i’ve been trying to think of a way to give back to the community using my photography skills.  in the last few months the answre was laid bare for me to see and this session is the beginning of this new opportunity that lumen photography is offering.  in order to better understand this session, let me explain what exactly it is.  i’ve decided to donate  my time and photography skills, gratis, to families who have kids, eighteen and under, and who have either: a terminal disease, critical/dangerous surgeries, disabilities, life-threatening scares and sicknesses, among other similarly nature events.  therefore, if you know of a family who has a child that may fit these criteria please feel free to let them know!  i will soon be adding a link on my website and blog to this specific new opportunity that i’m offering.

i would like to introduce you to justice and some of his family.  melissa cobb, justice’s mom, contacted me not too long ago and that is how i met mr. justice.  justice is the youngest addition to the cobb family – who live in st. cloud, mn.  justice has had several brain surgeries and he isn’t even two years old yet. he has endured more medical procedures than many people will in their entire lives.  despite all of this, justice is a vibrant fun little tyke who has a great smile and is a blast to photograph.  the two other kids who were at the session were two of Melissa’s other sons.  the next oldest being mckinley who has hydrocephalus – a condition where the body produces too much cerebro-spinal fluid and causes pressure and damage to the brain – was also a pleasure to hangout with.  the eldest son at the session was reggie!  it was obvious that all of the children love and care for each other very much as reggie was always around with a word of encouragement to his younger brothers or a helping hand.  i think we can all be thankful for justice’s positive prognosis as every child’s life is precious.  i would also like to salute the cobb family for the continuing bravery through tough times.  i hope these photos can provide you with some measure of happiness as i know that meeting you and your family was an experience that i’ll remember for the rest of my life.
