Wedding | Jon and Julia | St. Joseph, MN

today, i would like to introduce everyone to jon and julia.

a few weekends ago, i had the privilege to travel up to st. ben’s university in st. joseph, minnesota to shoot jon and julia’s wedding.  for anyone who remembers my blog post from their engagement session, one will recall how unlucky we were with the weather – having been rained out on three different occasions!  on the last, jon and julia really showed their adventurous spirits and said “full steam ahead,” and we shot despite the inclement weather.  luckily, karma decided that jon and julia had, had enough rain on their special days and the weather for their wedding  couldn’t have been more spectacular!  we started off the day over in st. cloud at a hair salon.  over there we had fun watching as the ladies of the bridal party get all dolled up!  special hair cuts, make-up, and whatnot made all the ladies look especially radiant on the wedding day.  but everyone was outdone by julia who looked absolutely gorgeous with her special hair cut and flower that was put in her hair!  afterward, there was a quick jaunt over to st. ben’s where we did the first look… which was absolutely perfect as both jon and julia looked picture perfect (i.e. look at the pics below!). we quickly mosied our way over to an abandoned mill on the other side of town for the bride and groom portrait session.  we got a ton of amazing photos over at the mill and by the bike path… even getting creative and incorporating some passing bikers into our pics!  the wedding in and of itself was top-notch with the temp being warm yet bearable and the ceremony a lesson in loveliness.  with some kisses, a few tears, and many smiles it became official… jon and julia were husband and wife!  a short walk over to  the gorecki (gor-ek-y: is that the correct pronunciation?  i heard it quite a few different ways), student center for the reception and dinner!  inside there was a cocktail hour as everyone mingled and got prepared to get down to the serious business of eating! dinner was served shortly afterward and consisted of three different entree options all of which looked very delicious!  two or three speeches later and some dancing done, the evening was all but over but will  surely be well ingrained in memory as a fun wedding with a bride and groom who were both equally amazing!  thank you jon and julia for such an amazing day and i wish you both the best as you start your new lives together!
