so,
it’s been a while hasn’t it? school has started up and the wedding season, in minnesota at least, is beginning to wrap up. nonetheless, it is not over yet. this last weekend i had the privalege to photograph the wedding of a great couple named mark and sara. i met these two cats through my dad who works with sara at the northwest area foundation. a few months ago i shot their e-session and had a blast just chilling with them around the lake calhoun area. this time, the backdrop would be senic minneapolis and the restaurant of soleras off of hennepin avenue.
the afternoon started off around 4:30 with a little couples session with just sara and mark. we didn’t stray too far from the restaurant but being in downtown minneapolis there are examples of great architechture interesting buildings, and backdrops that are just begging to be photographed. one of my favorite photos is the one infront of the state theater… it just turned out… wow. after a while just strolling around the streets and taking uber-cute photos we mosied our way back to soleras to start the family photos. i had a great time meeting everyone and of course we got some shweet pictures to boot. towards six o’clock everyone was going to get seated for the ceremony. Up on the rooftops of minneapolis we could not have had a better day for the ceremony. a waning sun, love and good friends made the atmosphere quite memorable as well as for making for a kick ass photo opportunity. after a gorgeous ceremony, the bars were opened and people started to mingle and chat. a short while later everyone was seated for a family style dinner and speeches. there were the usual speeches along with a very cool one from two of sara’s very good friends that was touching and involved many gag gifts. everyone got a kick out of that! to wrap up the evening, the newly weds went out on the dance floor for their first dance to the beatles. it was great! the dancefloor was opened up to everyone and boy did people boogey-woogey the night away. there were some awesome dancers and lots of people really got into it! after seemingly no time, the night was over and it was time to go home. it was an uber-great experience for me and i really wish the best of luck to sara and mark in their new lives together.
but seriously…. you two are awesome! make the most of life and enjoy.
